My Friday Etsy Finds - Artful Inclinations

We handmade Artists on Etsy sometimes get caught up in what we do - I know I do. Sometimes it's great to go exploring and take a break to see what other Artists are designing and crafting. We explore new ideas and concepts driven by our passion and need to create. We are inspired by the simplest things that can take us far beyond into magical territory.

This morning on a trip through the Etsy land, I've found Artful Inclinations

The work of Artful Inclinations is made by two artists, Shelly and Joy. It's a fusion of Steampunk and Goth along with some very ethereal Elvish elements.

I'm sure that as we speak, they are rocking their State in CA with their astounding work. Surprisingly however, their work is undiscovered on Etsy. I don't think such wonderful talent should be hidden from the online market. So if you love the work you'll see, please LIKE and share their shop and fanpage on your fanpages, twitter and blogs :)

Here's just a few beautiful pieces I'd love to share from their shop. If you love what you see just click on the image to be taken to the listing. Enjoy!

Alabaster Berry - silver plate, chalcedony, and sculpey brooch

Filigree Clematis - jasper, brass, and sculpey pendant

Both the brooch and the pendant are beautiful, fairy-like creations. Artful Inclinations beholds a variety of brooches and pendants that you must see for yourself. These unique looks will really stand out, and if you know me - I love unique, one-of-a-kind looks! You'll find exactly that with Artful Inclinations!

Below features both Steampunk and Gothic necklaces and bracelets with very talented wire-wrapping techniques.

Keepsake - chinese crystal, prehnite, and peridot steampunk necklace

Inspire My Design Wednesday

Its Wednesday, and its our first day of our new inspiration fashion and design blog posts.

Love our work but not entirely sure what to wear with it? Looking for a type of fashion sense you want to surround yourself with and need some inspiration? Perhaps you are decorating your home and doing a complete make-over and you want some inspiration for matching home-decor and your fashion style?

We are matching our designs everyday to great finds and photos on Pinterest, Etsy and around the net to give you great ideas for your wardrobe and decor.

Today I sit in my Aunt and Grandmother's warm and welcoming home, looking out the window at the dark, morning sky as the traffic begins to pick up. The bird feeder is laden with a layer of pristine white snow, flakes drifting to the ground. The sky is a subdued mix of violet and blue.

This beautiful winter morning makes me think of one of my newest designs...

This necklace is a fusion of vintage style fashion and steampunk. Naturally, steampunk is not a very feminine fashion statement, but here at Sahetah's Jewelry, we change all that. This beautiful necklace is as feminine as it gets.  This piece has a delicate look, feeling light and weightless.

So what would you wear it with? You would complete this piece with an equally light and weightless look that evokes a feel of feminine delicateness.

Wearing a collection of white, creams or picking from a pallet of pastel, subdued colors will create a unified and beautiful look.

A beautiful, lace, flowing dress in a relaxing shade of ivory that feels weightless is the perfect dress to compliment this necklace. At UrbanOG.com you can get this look for only $34.10.

Not any pair of shoes can match . If you are going for a lacy feel, a great pair of light, lacy heels will create a great, chic look. Keep with a light color of creams and whites.

Home Decor Inspiration

Looking beyond your wardrobe, here is some inspirational looks for your home decor. The following pictures are a collection inspired by our Violet Lucite flower necklace.

A beautiful collection of vintage style and chic accents for your home.

An airy living room look.

A beautiful space for morning light on a cool spring day.

So start this look with our handmade Violet Lucite Flower Pendant which you can receive 15% off from now until March 1st with the coupon code: OSCARS15 upon checkout!

Leave a comment below and tell us what you would wear with this necklace.

Two New Steampunk Designs!

I posted these on Flickr, but I want to share them here too!

One of the joys I've discovered is working with Pocket Watches. I have always admired and loved Steampunk, but it was only recently that I begun to delve into this beautiful fantasy world filled with enchanting and inspiring designs.

I have been timid at first in my designs, working with single chains and small glass stones and swarovski crystals. This design was a leap for me, and I am delighted how it turned out.

Isabella Steampunk Pocket Watch Layered Choker Necklace

This necklace was a delight to make. I spent 4 wonderful hours creating this piece using upcycled chain that have been waiting nearly a whole year for a purpose. A year ago I would never have thought it would have turned from an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan design (a swan with a pocket watch).

I love how this necklace hangs on the neck. A full hour was spent just making sure it hung just right. Some elements had to be taken away to make the composition perfect.

This is a close up of the beautiful lattice work on the Pocket Watch. The Pocket Watch really finishes this look, and it just wouldn't be a complete necklace without it.

This design is the start of something new as my creativity expands. I am constantly inspired and looking at what else I can do. I love working with Pocket Watches and taking something masculine and working with a masculine saturated style (steampunk) and making something feminine and unique. This specific design is not as feminine as my designs using lucite flowers.

Victorian Goddess - Lariat Heart Locket Vintage Style Necklace

I loved creating this design. It is a new design for me. I started with the idea of using a toggle to hold a centerpiece and open at the front instead of behind the neck. The idea grew into this beautiful design.

I love working with antique brass, and this beautiful heart locket was looking for a home. I originally had a simple design in mind, but after discovering these beautiful chunky, high quality glass stones and beautiful, large toggle - this design began to form in my mind.

I tried this technique of clustering beautiful, small stones together atop another big stone. Since I am self taught, I refused to research this technique, and instead problem solved it in my head. Then I quickly realized how simple the technique was.

I was skeptical at first of adding this element into this design. I was worried it would become too busy when I wanted the pendant to be the focal point. I decided to just try it and see, and I think it came out beautifully. I am glad I decided to take the leap.

These are my two newest designs. I am very proud of them, and there will be more in the foreseeable future.

The Hype is winding down

Holidays are over, and my idea of making gift guides was nipped in the butt by my grandfather's surgery. Though things are still in full swing in relation to his surgery, no longer being sick myself and recouped from the Month long Novel Writing, I have created some nice pieces and will be slowly showing them in my Shop.

Truthfully, I was not prepared for this Christmas. I have very few wares and I'm still exploring the depths of my creativity. I have finally stretched out into a new Style as I knew I eventually would, but did not think I would touch on this specific style so soon.

Steampunk!

I have always been in love with fantasy, the mystical, the romance, and everything so far from reality. Steampunk may not be my favorite genre, but the 'idea' of it, of picturing myself in a world like those books, for a moment it can seem so real. For some reason it feels more down to earth than our world right now. Perhaps its the lack of 'electronics' and everything digital. Iron must be wrought and hammered over an anvil by honed human strength and out of the blood and sweat is something gorgeous. It takes more skill to create a Pocket Watch by the 'mundane' tools of hammers, forges and anvils than it does by machines who do our work for us.

Steampunk is a reminder of the intelligence, the creativity and the hard work of the men and women before the age of technology took that all away.

That's what Steampunk means to me. Of a time we shouldn't forget, yet Steampunk is much more than just an age of our history. It is touched with fantasy, and even magic.

What does Steampunk mean to you? (tell me in the comment section below)

With all that said, my first tinkering project has lead me to creating this wonderful piece which I have labeled a HUGE success!!

I then proceed to make another. Running low on brass gears to bring out color, so I added flat Col Topaz Swarovski Crystals to the piece. I acme up with this...

I am very proud of myself, but before I pat myself on the back I will get back to work, and begin to expand my Creativity with this new found love for crafting Steampunk!
